Traditional Orthodontics

Traditional braces have been around for decades and are proven effective at straightening teeth and realigning bites. With a metal bracket and wire design, this system can address even the most severe cases, allowing patients of all ages to see noticeably beautiful results. With the brackets bonded to the surfaces of the teeth, and an archwire applying pressure to keep teeth shifting in the right direction, individuals who choose traditional orthodontics can expect to see results in 2-3 years. Plus, braces today are far more comfortable and effective than when you were a child—so your child’s experience should be much smoother!

Invisalign Clear Braces

For patients who prefer a less noticeable orthodontic solution, which often includes teens, there are Invisalign clear braces. These clear plastic aligners are worn 20-22 hours a day for 1-2 weeks at a time. Once one set is complete, you or your child will be required to swap them out for the next one in the series until they complete the entire set. These trays are not only virtually invisible, but they are flexible, which means they can be removed to eat, drink, and for oral hygiene.

FastBraces

We might also recommend FastBraces for your child’s orthodontic case. FastBraces uses patented technology that requires the use of only one special wire that stays in place throughout the entire treatment. Designed to deliver results in as little as 100 days, this unique system works to straighten tooth roots by restoring the alveolar bone and straightening teeth. It is an effective way to address cases involving malocclusion that would otherwise require tooth extraction or jaw surgery.

Clear/Ceramic Braces

One of the biggest inconveniences with traditional braces is their noticeable metal, but clear/ceramic braces can be a much more subtle option. They do the same job as metal braces, but the only real difference is the clear brackets and wires that are used. This allows you or your child to embrace orthodontic treatment without worrying about their smile’s appearance. From afar, most people won’t even notice the braces, and it’s even less obvious up close. This means you or your child can still smile and brim with confidence during their braces journey!

Early Orthodontic Intervention

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child undergo orthodontic evaluation by the time they reach the age of 7, and we couldn’t agree more. We’re happy to help kick off your child’s orthodontic journey. During their appointment, Dr. Nicole will closely examine their teeth and jaw position to determine if early treatment is necessary. Should signs of improper dental growth be present, we can begin addressing these issues long before all permanent teeth erupt. By starting early, we can get ahead of many common problems (i.e., bite misalignment, improper jaw positioning, etc.) and avoid more serious oral treatment later (i.e., jaw surgery).

Orthodontic Emergencies

A loose bracket or a protruding wire can be a hassle, which is why we are here to treat these issues quickly. Since orthodontic emergencies vary in nature, our team can provide safe and effective solutions to help your child avoid delays in treatment. We’ll also provide helpful tips you can use at home should you experience any minor issues.

Retainers/Oral Appliances

Once the process of wearing braces is complete, orthodontic treatment is not over. In almost all cases, patients, both young and old, are required to wear a retainer or oral appliance to keep their teeth firmly in place. Because teeth require time to integrate into their new positions, a retainer can help to eliminate the chances of them shifting back to their original spots.
