Cutting-Edge Technology That Leads to High-Quality Care

Children deserve the same level of high-quality care as adults—and the right dental technology can facilitate this! Below, you will discover the different types of equipment we use to create a more conservative and comfortable approach to dentistry. Not only will these devices make your child feel more at ease throughout their visit, but they also allow us to ensure greater accuracy and precision while reducing recovery times.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras serve a very important purpose at our office; they don’t just assist with patient care, but they’re also a great way for your child to see exactly what we see when examining their mouth. This camera-tipped wand scans their teeth, taking high-resolution images and displaying them on a nearby monitor. Not only can we use it to easily identify problem areas, but we can also better explain the problem and which treatment is best.

Digital X-Rays

We’re also excited to have fully digital X-rays here at our office. Compared to traditional radiographs, which emitted high levels of radiation and took much time to develop in a dark room, our new digital X-rays are much safer and more reliable. Better yet, since they’re faster to upload and more accurate, we can more easily identify problem areas. This makes it possible for us to closely monitor the development of your child’s mouth and address changes and issues before they become a serious problem.

Digital Impression System

Capturing dental impressions used to be a difficult task for dentists. This was due to the use of cold, messy dental putty for taking impressions; not only was this method unpleasant for patients, but it also leaves a margin for error. Fortunately, with the iTero digital impression system, we can make this process easier and more precise. By scanning your child’s mouth with this small, handheld device, we can capture accurate images in just minutes, producing a 3D model on a nearby screen, which can then be sent to lab technicians for detailed fabrication.

Soft Tissue Laser

Lasers have become an incredibly important piece of technology when it comes to pediatric dentistry, and we’re thrilled to have access to a soft tissue laser here at our office. This unique device allows us to greatly improve the overall patient experience when it comes to all kinds of procedures, most notably lip and tongue-tie treatments. The concentrated beam of light not only minimizes bleeding and swelling while targeting only the designated area, but it also reduces swelling and ensures optimal comfort during the procedure.
