Say Hello to Dr. Hanna

Dr. Benelhachemi is inspired by getting to meet and work with so many amazing patients. She enjoys building relationships with every child she sees, whether they’re celebrating a first wiggly tooth or she gets to hear about all of their latest adventures! She also understands that new experiences, especially dental visits, can feel scary at first, which is why she does her best to make each appointment fun and enjoyable. To get to know her a little more before you bring your child in, read her biography below!

Why Did You Decide to Become an Orthodontist?

Dr. Benelhachemi decided to become a dentist because simply helping people makes her happy! She’s the oldest of three younger brothers, and she knew early on that she wanted to work with children. Pediatric dentistry gave her the perfect opportunity to combine her love for helping others with her passion for working with kids.

In dental school, Dr. Benelhachemi quickly discovered that her youngest patients were her favorite—their appointments were always so much fun! Whether they were listening to Disney music during the visit or watching movies, like Despicable Me, she loved creating a space where kids could actually enjoy their visits. Being able to make that kind of positive impact on children truly brings her joy.

Where Did You Study Orthodontics?

Dr. Benelhachemi attended Loyola University – Chicago for her undergraduate studies and Marquette University School of Dentistry for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She then went on to earn her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from Yale New Haven Hospital and is a Board Candidate for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She’s also a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Benelhachemi grew up with her family in Libertyville, Illinois with her three younger brothers and her cat, Rico! Whenever she isn’t at the dental office, she loves to spend her time creating meals with friends and family. A fun fact is that she actually wanted to be a chef as a kid and dreamed of having her own show on Food Network! She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places - especially ones that have great restaurants and an even better iced latte!

A fun fact about Dr. Benelhachemi is that she speaks four languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, and French! She loves using these skills to connect and communicate with each patient. She also always likes to try to get her patients to teach her a new word in their language!
